**From Celebration to Cancellation: The Tragedy of Homayoun Shajarian’s Free Concert**

The free concert of Homayoun Shajarian, scheduled for September 5 at Azadi Tower, was ultimately canceled due to extensive disputes and lack of coordination. The event, intended to boost social vitality and unity, initially received wide public and media attention but faced delays in approvals and logistical support (security, sound, lighting, crowd management) from the Ministry of Culture, the Interior Ministry, and Tehran Municipality.

Two days after announcing the concert, Shajarian confirmed its cancellation. The issue later reached the Cabinet, which proposed relocating the concert to Azadi Stadium, though uncertainties remain about its feasibility. Thus, one of the most promising cultural events turned into a “tragedy,” and a valuable chance to promote social cohesion and public morale was lost.
